I have used this flashlight for about one year and it has become alost the only flashlight I use. In Cabinets it illuminates the entire space, no fumbling to re-aim or balance or juggle. In crawl spaces you can set it up and work in a wide area without having to fool with the light, like a portable flood light. This and my LED headlight are all I need anymore. Great tool, and no worries about having fresh batteries!

I sure do like this light. Light is bright, and lasts a pretty good long time. The only thing that I didn't like about it is that if you set it down on the battery, and raise the lamp up and point it down, it becomes unbalanced. but...that doesn't hinder my using it...love the light.

I was very excited to get this light...initially, I liked it. Out of the packaging, I hooked it up to the 18V battery and it worked, emitting a fairly bright beam. The sales ad says that it comes with an "extra" bulb, which was not included. I emailed Amazon regarding the issue and they sent a 2nd light to my address, instead of sending a bulb or two (?). It is worth mentioning the the re-ship did not have the extra bulb either. I had pretty much decided to just purchase the other light as well, thinking I could use one and leave one in the work truck as a spare. Then, I was using one of the lights, hit it pretty hard with a board I was using in an attic, and it fizzled. I went and got the other light, used it the rest of the morning, then went to use it in the afternoon and it was burnt out too - with little to no abuse (that I can remember). I sent both of the lights back - they aren't as durable as they should be. Instead, I ordered two of the flexible-head lights (Dewalt 18V). A few of my friends have these and have had no issues. I will leave a review for those as well when I have had time to put them to the test. All in all, this is a bright light, but if you put your equipment to the test day-in and day-out, it might not be the quality you are looking for.

I am a fan of these 18v lights in general. This particular light, the head doesn't move directly up and down. The head rotates left and right at a 45 degree angle. Useable but just a tad awkward. But if you only have Dewalt batteries on the job, this light is a must. It seems fairly durable. I have already accidently dropped it from chest height on concrete with no injuries to light or bulb. Lucky? Overall I am pleased with this light.

Nothing new. Same as my 12V light that never dies. Gets banged around nicely and works well. Focus feature could be nice tho. As said before- love those bare tool deals.

I am a plumber and I use all 18 voly DeWalt cordless tools, i.e drill, sawzall, circular saw, and this light. It's pivoting head is great for setting on a shelf or in the corner under a counter or vanity, cause when youre laying on you back working on a sink, you cant have the light always at a spot where it points directly up.
OK for what it is, but seriously flawed by current standards

The main flaw with this light would have been trivial in the recent past. Compared to other ways of providing light, even DeWalt ways, this is not an effective solution.
br /
br /I bought this to have a working light that also used the 18v power packs from my various DeWalt 18v tools. So far so good. But it really burns some power, it gets quite warm and the light doesn't last as long and isn't as bright as you would hope.
br /
br /I also have the DeWalt DC527 fluorescent light, it provides a much better working light, lasts longer and is easier to use to get light on your work. By comparison to the DC527 this is an uneven and yellowish light.
br /
br /This is more compact than the DC527 though, and it provides better range, fluorescent provides more white light, but only at limited range.

Works as advertised, the only downside is that I hate to let my kids use it as the cost of the batteries make for a VERY expensive flashlight.
