It is the perfect tool to keep my dogs' nails from overgrowing. Just a few touches on the nails with the tool, my dog gets a treat for being patient about the chore, and the job is done.

The cordless Minimite is a perfect compliment to Dremel's electric Moto-tools! This tool is great for quick jobs away from AC power. I recently installed car stereo speakers and the tool's small size, fast speed, and availability of bits made the speaker cutouts in a confined space quick and easy. I strongly recommend having a spare battery for minimum down time.

My dog's breeder recommended this model to use for keeping the dog's nails trimmed. Absolutely perfect for filing down her nails. I always put on a pair of gardening gloves (you know how puppies and dogs wiggle) and this cordless wonder works GREAT. Good price, great work. A very good buy.

I bought one of these tools, when it first hit the street.Man was I surprised with the power. After about 2 years of serious duty I finally wore it out.The only down side was not being able to precisely control the speed. You cant go wrong here folks dremel has built a reputation on simplicity and reliability. This minimite is no exception and is definitely tool box worthy. Now get out there and grind, cut, polish something.

Rufus, our big red dog, screams like a baby whenever the nail clippers come out. His antics make clipping his nails impossible - you'd think we were cutting his leg off. We read that some people used a Dremel tool to do their dogs' nails, so after a little research, we got the 750-02 Minimite. It works like a charm. The abrasive disk is just the right size and the low speed works just right. A few millimeters each weekend and the dog hardly makes a sound when walking on a hard floor. Best of all, he doesn't mind having his nails done. This tool is perfect for our 80 pound dog. I like the grip and the rechargeable battery too. Highly recommended.

I bought this to care for the black nails of our dog. I can take very small amounts of nail off at a time, and the nails are smoothed as I go. I started using it on the guinea pig, too, and she likes it much better thatn clippers. The dremel is pretty quiet and runs for 15-20 minutes on one battery charge. It performs exactly as I hoped, and I'm very pleased.

I got this specifically to trim our dog's nails. It does a great job for that... our dog didn't pull away like she did with nail clippers. One thing you might need to know is that the tool pictured is not what you will get. You will get the newer model (or at least we did). Be careful... batteries for the older model do not fit this new one and vise-versa. The batteries for the newer model are round, not square so make sure if you're buying an extra battery that you get the right one.

I purchased this cordless Dremel rotary tool after reading other reviews claiming this product turned the trauma of canine nail trimming into a peaceful event. Also helpful was the recommendation of some reviewers that this particular model had sufficient battery power (unlike the cheaper Dremel model) to get through the manicure and then some. Well, it's true -- it is all true. I have two dogs and not only did I do the nails on both dogs but there was still plenty of power left for me to buff my wedding rings to a nice shine (with the included buffer wheel).
br /
br /Be sure, as some have stated, to trim the fur around the nails so it doesn't get caught up in the sanding wheel. Use the low speed and the fine sanding wheel (the one on the loaded on the wheel is the coarser of the two -- so switch it out with the other included sander ring). The rotary tool is very quiet. I have a normal corded Dremel and it is considerably louder. I also wasted $50 on a rotary tool in a dog specialty catalog that was designed specifically for this task. It was so loud that neither of my dogs would let me near them with it -- hence my great trepidation purchasing yet another rotary tool. But, the monthly drama of the nail trimming was enough to push me to try one more time -- and I am so glad I did. Both dogs have black nails and the quick is impossible to see. This is the best money I have ever spent. I took more off their nails than I have ever been able to in the past and the nails were neatly sanded and the dogs untraumatized. Although be patient when approaching them with the tool -- go slow and they will quickly get acclimated to it.

This is an excellent, incredible, fantastic product for keeping my girl's nails trimmed nicely. one of them was so afraid of the clippers, she would scream..not bark..actually scream and we would have to holder her down.
br /I introduced her first to this and took my time with her. Over the course of two weeks, using lots and lots of cheerios as treats, I have her using this dremel without fear!
br /This tool has been a godsend for her and me, and if you touch the quick, the dog will just pull away..that is all that happens. No clipping through it!
br /
br /This is much better quality tool than the ones marketed for dogs. Yes there is no safety cover, but on low speed..you don't need one. In fact my dogs have both mouthed this tool, and it stopped. I have also grabbed it and stopped it with no problem. This may just scare them a little the first time it happens, but it won't hurt them. Maybe pull a few hairs out, but the cheerios make it all better.
br /Don't buy the dremmel for dogs, dont buy the ones they charge $90 for on tv (peticure/pedipaws are junk).
br /This is much better with nice rechargable battery.
br /Always, always use on low speed. Fast will burn the nail.
br /Hope that helps!

if you want a dremel tool for small jobs, this is great. If you want a tool for a project, or something where you will be using th tool a lot, get a corded dremel. The major advanages for the minimite are that it is cordless, and is quite inexpensive, but very high quality. The disadvantages are that first, the battery only lasts about 7mins on the higher speed, and that the top speed on a fully charged battery is less than half a corded dremel's top speed. for small jobs, it is perfect because you do not need to drag out a ccord, and bits can be changed without a wrench and on the go. if you need a demel for a project, you will go insane because it is always running out of juice.

I've been using this tool on my dog's nails for the past 6 months and so far it's doing a great job. I use it about twice a month and the sanding disc it came with is not worn out yet. My dog donesn't have to get tangled by the cord since it's cordless. I find that a fully charged battery lasts at least 2 hrs with consistant grinding. The only draw back is that I have to position it a certain way against the nail. Otherwise, it the grinding action is not smooth. It would feel like the grinder keeps hitting hard bumps. Other than that, I am absolutely glad that I got this tool.

I owned a previous model of the Mini-Dremel and wanted another so I could have one upstairs and another downstairs. Many attachments available.
I mainly use the barrel sander attachment to -- believe it or not -- trim my parrot's toenails! I tried a number of different nippers and clippers, but it was a problem to know where to cut without making her bleed. With the Dremel, if I file her nail down a little too far I can stop before it is a big problem.
I recently bought the metal-cutting attachment for a specific project (not parrot-related!). These disks wore-out fairly quickly, but I was cutting hard wire with them and was pleased with their performance. Dremel supplies a little plastic carry case for the disks, which is nice because I won't be using them often and they were too expensive to just be kicking around the tool box.
The battery works for a long time on a single charge...I'd say at least 30 minutes. Hard to say exactly, because I've almost never run out of juice before getting done with a project. The battery on my original Minimite lasted many years before it needed to be replaced. Dremel continues to supply batteries for old models, which is good customer service and engendered my loyalty to the brand.
For major projects, you'll probably want a 'real' Dremel. But for occasional odd jobs, the Dremel Minimite is just the thing and a real value for the price.

I use the dremel for grinding the dogs toenails after I cut them and found the new dremel was so much faster and easier to use. In a flash (or touch) the edges are off the nails and the dogs do not mind because it is so fast. The new recharging system has been improved. I love the new dremel.

After reading every ad and searching all possible feedback from Amazon to the American Kennel Club on the best product for sanding dogs toenails, I settled on the Dremel 750. I have two large lab mixes who HATE to have their toenails cut and must be muzzled by a professional at $10 each per visit. I also attempt to cut them myself with regular clippers, but I never cut them short enough for fear of cutting the quik. For much less than products who claimed supreme, and less than 24 hour shipping turn around, I ordered this on Sept. 30 and had it on the charger the afternoon of Oct. 1. With Super Saver Shipping, it was the best deal on the Internet here through Amazon.com. And with a rechargeable battery included the value can't be beat compared to other "as seen on TV" brands that use batteries. As I had read in a previous review, last night I just let it sit on the counter running on low to get my dogs used to the sound. If they seemed interested, I'd give them a treat. After doing that earlier today again, I started to touch their nails with it and give a treat immediately after each tap(something really special like cheese or a bit of meat). My one lab who has bitten several times before during his trimmings, sat quietly after only about 10 minutes of giving the cheese and touching all the toenails. Even though it's a bit noisy, it's nothing compared to other trimmers. If my paranoid pooches can deal with it, any dog will tolerate it if you take your time and get them used to it first. After about 30 minutes, I had their nails shorter and MUCH smoother than we'd ever gotten before. And my dogs weren't freaked out in any way. It was wonderful! Not only will this save me loads of money on professional services, I'm able to do it more often which keeps the dogs more comfortable and saves my hardwood floors. Tonight was the first time in years I didn't hear my dogs clicking up and down the hall. Thank you to the person who took the time to write about this product and for their recommendation of giving the treats over time before doing the nails. This was the key to success for my dogs and didn't take very long at all. You will not be disappointed with this product. I'm giving them as Christmas gifts to family with pets.

As others have mentioned, this is great for trimming dogs nails. My dog hates the clippers and will hide just from the sight of them, but he'll lay down nicely while I grind them with this. It's paid for itself already in the savings from taking him to the vet for trimmings.
I took off a point because the battery seems to run out a little too quickly.

This dremel has been a true godsend for trimming dog nails. It was recommended by a vet. My husband has struggled with the larger dremel plus it creates more noise--scaring the dogs. The Minimite handles easily, is quieter, and the 2 speeds are sufficient for nail grooming. Great product.

If you love carving pumpkings (especially foam pumkins) the way I do, then this tool is an absolute necessity. I use it specifically for scraping away the pumpkin husk in areas that are to have medium tones or for those tiny carving areas where its difficult to have control with an exacto knife. However, the battery doesn't last a real long time. For those 1-2 hour carving sessions, a replacement battery is a must, so one can be charging while you are using the other.

br /The other thing I like about it: if any hair gets caught it in it, it immediately stops spinning. I think that is because the RPM's aren't as high as dremels that you use for sanding wood, metal, etc.
br /It is perfect for pet use.

Purchased primarily to file dog's claws e.g. to shorten them so they don't become too long. Dog is long-haired and despite my efforts to trim hair in the vicinity of his paws, it seems as if I'd have to trim his legs an inch or more to avoid the hair becoming entangled in the rotating device. Neither he nor I enjoy that! Am hesitant about continuing to use it. About ready to revert back to the hand-operated claw trimer formerly used.

wow i thought this tool was kind of weak because it was about only 4 something volts. but actually it performs well and very handy too. although it says it also "cuts" the package did not include a cutting blade of some sort, so the brand is trying to get you to buy more crap from them at a more higher price rather than other brands. but other than the accessories you have to buy seperately and more expensive i think it is pretty good. but if i were you i would get a spare battery!

A bought this to grind the dog's nails. They seem to tolerate it better than conventional clippers but you have to be very careful to rotate what nail you are doing so it doesn't get to hot and whatever you are working by will be covered with "nail dust" by the time you are done. On high speed the battery doesn't quite make it at full power to the end of the trimming but it continues on a bit slower to finish the job. BTW, for reference, I have a big German Shepherd so his nails might be a bit more than most people use it for. He lets me actually trim his nails (with much enticement) so all in all it's a win for the Dremel - easy to recharge too!

This is a wonderful little tool. The first one I got from Amazon had the incorrect charger included in the original packaging. Amazon quickly replaced the entire unit. Super customer service!
I use this tool to trim my dogs' nails. No accidental nicks and the nail comes down quickly and smoothly. Stays charged a long time. The different heads make it possible to trim under the nail in such a way as was impossible before. And the tool is relatively quiet which makes it more acceptable to my dogs.
I recommend this product.

I purchased this tool for the specific purpose of trimming my dog's nails. Well it works fine, I did his back feet one day and then the front feet the next day. He, my dog, seemed to not want any machine anywhere near him, but he got used to it quickly and seemed to calm down some then. He really doesn't like his front paws handled at all, but when I did them he was only moderately difficult. I believe after we have a couple more experiences with the tool, he will be pretty OK with it. He just has to become familiar with a new devise before he will be OK with it. He already seems to like getting an electric massage, so now it is simply a matter of him knowing that he is safe with this and he should be more accepting of it.
br /I will have other projects for the tool soon, but have only used it for the dogs nails so far. It is easy to use and has a nice charger unit. So, I recommend this tool as much as I can having only used it in a limited way. I know there are a number of other machines on the market for this purpose, but don't know anything about them, and liked this one.

I purchased this tool to groom my two dogs toe nails. It works like a charm! The dogs have never really like the toe nail cutting process. The only thing that would keep their attention with clippers was the prospect of a treat at the end. With the Dremel tool they were patient and just layed there while I 'clipped' their toes. Now it is possible to smooth out the toes instead of leaving jagged edges.

I have a 7 year old basset hound who has some of the thickest nails I've ever seen. I have been trimming them about once a month since she was a puppy with typical pet trimmers. But after seeing an advertisement for the Peticure, I started researching for a better way. And I found it!! This tool is quiet and works fabulously! My dog was a little scared at first, but with just a few treats, I was dremmeling away on her. It's easy, fast, and affordable, so I highly recommend this for all pet owners who need a nail trimmer. Also, I have not had an issue with the battery at all, but I do charge it almost every time when I'm done.

I love the dremel! I use it to dremel the black nails of my two small dogs. My youngest one has never let anyone get near her nails so I had to work with her more with the dremel. When I was done, her nails were so short and smooth. She had really long nails that she would trip all the time. My oldest dog doesn't mind the dremel at all and just falls asleep while I dremel away. I can never be afraid of getting the quick and with the dremel is way easy to tell when you are getting near and should stop. No blood, shorter nails, and smooth. [...]

This is a nice, light cordless tool, but the battery life leaves a little to be desired. At high speed I could only get about 10 minutes of moderate grinding done before requiring a recharge.

I purchased this after looking around at prices. The ones "made" for dogs were way to pricey. This is more powerful than some listed. There is no downfall to this except that the battery does die quickly.

I bought this dremel specifically for one purpose - to use on my poor super dry feet/soles! I have a tip for it that is supposed to be for that purpose and it works very well. No file or pumice stone can get my feet as smooth as the dremel. The only downer of the dremel is that the charge doesn't last as long as I would like it to.

yes, that's what we do with it. Our dog won't sit still long enough for you to carefully measure each clip of a nail so someone suggested to us the Dremmel tool. Works great! I just wish it had a cord option, the battery seems to diminish quickly.

The battery replacement pack only has the same price as the whole new unit (battery pack, charger and dremel unit). So is better to buy a new unit every time you need to replace the battery.... really odd !!!

My 1 year old Cocker Spaniel hates to have his paws touched. It was impossible to cut his nails because you couldn't hold him still and his nails are dark so you can't see the quick. His first experience at a groomer was a bad one so I won't take him to anyone again. The vet barely touched his nails when I took him there. I heard of using this product and was afraid, but I tried it on myself first to see what he would be feeling and it was fine. Of course you still need to be careful not to trim too much and remain calm and sensitive to your dog, but it's not too powerful and works great.

I love love love this product! I have a husky who has naturally short nails, so this product is great for keeping them dull. Her nails always seem to get very sharp, and this solved our problem with her. And she loves it! It is totally quick and painless. The only reason I gave it four stars is because if you have a dog with longer nails, like my German Shepherd, you have to still cut the nails, as they grow too quickly, and you can't maintain them with the Dremel only. Keeping this in mind will help you make the proper purchase.

This is a very nice tool - well made and with the lowest of the two speeds I should be able to file my dog's nails down with ease. Of course, dog (a white lab) doesn't think so. We have been trying for weeks but he still looks at the Dremel with great suspicion. I will update this report when and if I have any success. The tool itself is a very fine product and easy to use. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is that it does not have a variable speed feature.

The 2-speed feature of the Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM is great. I gave this product 5 stars for: quality, effectiveness and ease of use.
br /
br /Quality: This product fits really well in my hand and it feels well made. I have been using it (since September 2008) and even though it's made of plastic nothing has broken or fail to work.
br /
br /Effectiveness: The high speed (10000 rpm) is for work around the house and the low speed (5000 rpm) is for my 85-lb dog (see TIPS for using this product on your pet's nails below). He has thick nails but I use the low speed because the high speed can heat up his nails. The recharging feature is great because the unit uses a lot of power and I hate to keep replacing the batteries (with the cordless ones that uses batteries).
br /
br /Ease of use: Changing the attachment may be tricky if you have not done so - just follow the instructions on how to do it. After you get a hang of it, it's not so hard. Charging the battery and putting it back on the unit was straight forward.
br /
br /TIPS on using this on your pet's nails:
br /- Turn the device on low (5000 rpm) while you're doing something fun with your pet (scratching his back, playing with a toy, etc,). Use one hand to play with the dog and use your other hand to hold the device. Keep doing this until your dog is not nervous when you turn the device on.
br /- After your dog is not alarmed by the device when you turn it on, then slowly introduce it to your dog by touching the bottom end of the vibrating device to your dogs leg. Keep doing this (while playing with your dog) until he seems at ease.
br /- Then tell your dog to lay down and stay (assuming he knows these commands) and at low speed using the sanding drum, hold his paw with one hand and slowly sand down the first nail.
br /
br /For techniques on how to trim the nails (especially not to go to deep to avoid the nerve), I would google this topic if you don't know how to do it.

We use these in our grooming salon and they are really great.
br /They are light weight so don't kill your hands, but powerful enough to get the job done.
br /
br /I will say, their battery life is a *little* on the weak side, but not bad enough for me to buy a different model for my own home use. You can do several small dogs with one charge, but if you're having to remove a fair amount of length from the toenails of a normal sized dog it does drain kind of quickly. In these cases, it's better to trim some of the excess nail off before grinding. If you are planning on multiple large dogs, or a bigger project, I would recommend picking up a spare battery.
br /
br /Despite popular belief, it IS possible to quick a dog with these (and any other tool that shortens the nails, including pedipaws...), and the heat does NOT cauterize it, so if you aren't good with figuring out where the quick ends, be sure to keep some quik stop handy.

I have been thinking about getting a dremel for the longest time to do my dog's nails but until I really started looking, thought it was cost prohibitive. This was a great find and works great. I thought the dogs would have a problem with the sound but it's not loud at all. I thought they would have a problem with me using it on their nails and they do a little pulling away but hold still when they know I'm not going to let up.
br /
br /I have always used the guillotine and scissor type of clipper and I always worried I would nick the quick. My dogs are great with those too but now I don't have to hurt them. Consequently their nails were always a little longer than they should have been. I finally have their nails to the length they should be at and I very happy about that.
br /
br /The only thing you have to be aware of is that these get hot if you leave them on too long and it burns. Just tap, tap tap and move on. Then come back and do them again after you've done one foot. I have greyhounds with black nails and these work perfectly on them.

I bought this dremel instead of a PediPaws dog nail trimmer. I love it! My dogs (Pugs) are really skittish about noises plus they HATE to have their nails trimmed. I don't like the splintered nails they have after a trim. I love the dremel, not too high powered as to hurt them, but enough power (and time on one charge) to do both dogs. I would recommend this to anyone!

I was using the more powerful, bulky Wizard and comparatively, this Dremel is a dream! My dog started off life living on the street in Taiwan so she is pretty much scared of everything, but the very first time we used this she just sat there and let me do her mani-pedi. When we used to use the clippers she would shake and squirm the whole time. This thing is great. It is very quiet. I haven't even run into the heat problems some people have reviewed. I can do all four paws in around 5 minutes and this thing was worth every penny I paid for it. My dog also has very dark nails so this is much safer than using clippers. I can tell if I'm getting close to the quick since she gets a little more nervous so then I just back off. You can take off a very small amount at a time.
br /
br /The battery charger is also great. I just keep it plugged into the wall and I can easily pull out the battery and put it into the Dremel when I need it. I've never lost power yet so don't know how long it lasts. I guess it lasts long enough. Highly recommended.

I have three giant breed dogs (one American Mastiff and two English Mastiffs). On the low speed, this is the absolute PERFECT tool for keeping their nails nicely trimmed and without any sharp edges. It's very quiet, so it doesn't frighten the dogs. They sit still for dremeling (one actually falls asleep), which they never do if I use the traditional nail clippers. One charge lasts plently long enough for me to do all three of my dogs. This is one of my absoulte MUSTS for doggie ownership. Very highly recommended!

I have always had a speed problem with the corded Dremels. I work in plastic models and the corded ones were too fast. They burned & melted plastic rather than cutting it. However, the minimite on low speed operates perfectly. It also allows a freedom of movement that the corded one's do not have. Ya don't have to keep messing with the cord. And it will take just about any mini-drill bit on the market. Not just Dremel's.
I do have 2 complains. 1. Battery pack isn't very hardy. I have had to replace the battery twice in the 6 months I've owned it. At $20 a pop, I have already paid more for battery packs than I paid for the tool. 2. The tool isn't balanced very well. Kinda hard to work with great dexterity with that heavy battery in the butt.
But I am glad I have the Minimite and will buy another when this one wears out.

I originally purchased this item to cut, grind, or otherwise get rid of the sickly foam that I made a big mistake in using around our pond liner. It turned out to be very unhelpful for that task, just ripping it out by hand worked best, however I've found use for the Minimite at least once every couple of weeks.
So far the Minimite fares as follows:
+ Polishing metal such as sink fixtures, grates, etc.
+ Making or enlarging holes in drywall, plastic, wood, and acrylic
+ Pruning, particularly difficult plants where shears won't work.
+ Finishing rough metal or plastic parts for circuit/breadboard work.
+ Brushing away detritus left over from welding or gluing.
- Doesn't hold a charge very long, 10-15 min. usage on high.
- Will not cut through a nail without serious dedication to the task.
- Insufficient torque so pressing too hard or brushing against something will stop it.
Although I've heard a lot of complaints about battery life and how weak this tool is compared to the higher voltage/torque Dremels; this is a $30-40 tool that just isn't designed to be an all-in-one replacement for a tool-shed of goodies. If you are looking for something to do a case mod, heavy metal crafting, or whatever; spend the extra $30-40 for a cordless/corded rotary tool that will meet your needs. As a bonus, that extra expense tends to include a lot more bits than what you get from this bare-minimum starter kit.

It works well when i polish my watches, only the battery runs out in about 1.5-2 hrs. That`s a bit too fast, although I sometimes use that as an excuse to have rest during recharging. Other than that I`m satisfied. It took me some practise though especially with all those felt tips and polishing compounds. But now being an expert :-) i consider buying one charged from an outlet. Cheers.

Believe it or not, I use this tool to keep the heels of my feet smooth ! It works better & faster than any foot/heal cream, vaseline, pumice stone or hot wax. I just lightly sand them every couple of days & apply a little lotion.
I had previously purchased a battery operated "Heel Sander" that didn't last long before the motor gave out. It was my husbands idea to get the re-chargeable Mini Dremel ! This is actually the second one I have gotten. The first one lasted about 5 years before it would no longer hold a charge. great value for the money !

I got this so that I could easier trim my dog's nails. It works wonders. It has enough power to trim her nails down very quickly (she's a 35 lb beagle/ heeler mix) but not so much to hurt her or me if I brush it on skin or paw pad. She doesn't jerk her paw nearly as much as she used to either. And it is also good for toenails on people. I am very pleased with it.

I have a German Shepherd dog and I purchased this Dremel Minimite to grind his nails. Works very well once the dog was used to it; he didn't want to get near it at first. I use the fine sanding band on high speed on the nails as I think the coarse bands would be too much. I've also found many other uses for the Dremel around the house so it's definitely handy. If you have a specific need, I'd recommend purchasing and I'm sure you'll find other uses also. The rechargeable battery is great, which is why I purchased this over the products marketed for grinding pets' nails. For a few bucks more, The Minimite is worth not having to replace batteries that you have to purchase separately.

My nails are too tough to trim using the usual cutters. Sometimes even wire cutters won't work without splitting my nails. Due to nail fungus problems, they are very thick and tough. You have to pay attention to the direction of rotation and hold the tool the right way to avoid going into the nail. Also have to avoid abrading the skin around the nails.
Dremel has been great so far!

I purchased this to keep my GSD's "talons" in check. I was afraid she would not allow me to do this, but has not shown her usual level of tenacity in refusing to comply as I expected. I have only used it about 5 times (we are doing her nails with the small increment approach to get her acclimated) and I still lay on her and put her head on the back on my shoulder, but the wiggling whining has all but ceased already. She is still not thrilled with it, but I think the vibration bothers her more than anything. I think after I become more confident in using the product, all will be well on doggy spa day! I couldn't be more pleased. I chose this model because it seemed a great deal for what I wanted as well as a decent price and was on free shipping. The reviews I read for other products were not encouraging especially for large dogs, so I am VERY pleased with this choice as it was only a couple of dollars more and seems to have a lot of power and holds a charge well. I have not recharged it once yet and it is still working fine.

I ordered this product for my son. It has a battery pack which was a surprise. I compared this Dremel to one found at my local home improvement store and this one was much better priced.
Love this! My dog thanks you!

I have been using this on my dog's nails and am thrilled! My dog actually lets me use it on her and lays still on her back for her "pedicure". She hated her old clippers and it was a fight to clip her nails.

br /The dremel is fun to use so I have to stop myself from trimming her nails everyday (lol). I've been taking just a little off at a time but they are the shortest they have ever been because with the old nail clippers, I was always afraid of hitting the quick and didn't take too much off. Now I feel much for comfortable and because she doesn't hate it, I do it more often.
br /
br /I highly recommend as a solution for trimming dogs nails. I would suggest doing a little research on how to use the dremel on dogs nails and how to slowly introduce the dog to the dremel before starting.

Product was all and more that was advertised. Our Bichon, who had issues on having her toenails clipped, did not stir one bit with her first grooming. Friends who happeened to stop by when we tried the Dremel were in awe how well "Maci" handled here first experience.

I wanted something to use on my dog so we didn't have to put him out everytime he needed his nails done. He was a bit hesitant at first because of the sound and just past issues with his nails. We've used it twice now and he just lays down and let's us do his nails. Beats having the vet put him out and do his nails for $60.

Works great to trim our dog's nails. It runs quiet enough that it doesn't seem to bother him at all!

This dremel has been great for my puppys nails. It so much better then spending $10 to get her nails trimmed. She doesn't mind the sound. The only thing she doesn't like is that we have to hold her paw still for a period of time. I feel a lot more comfortable with this tool then nail clippers. She has black nails so its very hard to see where the quik is. We haven't hit the quik once since we have this dremel. We haven't had any problems since we have owned this.

My dog (boxer/lab) absolutely refused to let me cut his nails. After only a few sessions with the Minimite (with a treat after each nail), he happily plops down and hands me his paw. It might be a bit better if it worked more quickly on the low speed, but maybe I need a coarser filing drum.
A worthwhile investment

I purchased my Minimite Dremel six months ago, when it became impossible to haul my whippet puppy [who had seemingly morfed overnight into an oversized whippet adult] bucking and pulling, from the car into the grooming salon. I could not put him through the torment any longer. Additionally, I wondered how many dogs with fungal infections might be subjected to that dremeling before I walked in the door. Something worth thinking about I suppose. I was paying $7.00 every two weeks for a good sanding of his nails and within two months, the Minimite had earned its keep. Jack lets me cozy up with him in a chair and Dremel those nails [most of them black] once a week, to keep them in check, It is one amazing little tool. I recommend it without reservation.

I bought this tool to trim my dogs' nails and it works great. It is not too bulky to hold and is powerful enough to trim them quickly. You do need to be careful of any hair around the paw as it can catch on the tool. Otherwise, I highly recommend this item.

This product works great... exactly as advertised! I purchased primarily to file my large dog's nails... works like a charm! With all the attachments, it has uses beyond that. The battery life is very good. Would definitely purchase again.

Bought this tool to trim puppy nails as nail clippers were difficult on other dogs I've had. This tool is great! Fast, neat job (outside is best as nail clippings are powdered). Tool allows me to grip nail and hold dog's pad and paw in my hand and trim with the other. Used twice, puppy doesn't seem to mind too much either, should get used to it in no time.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY PET " DIVA " TO DO HER NAILS WITH INSTEAD OF THE DOG CLIPPER AND IT WAS WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!IT TAKES A BIT TO GET USE TO HOLDING IT CORRECTLY BUT THIS ITEM IS FAB AND I WANT TO BUY MORE OF THE ACCESSORIES THAT COMES ALONG WITH IT BECAUSE I NOW ALSO ( CHANGE THE FILE OF COURSE ) AND USE IT TO GIVE MYSELF MANI AND PEDICURES. I CHARGED IT OVERNIGHT WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT WHICH WAS OVER ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO AGO AND HAVENT HAD TO RECHARGE YET!!!!!!!

This item works okay, but the dog doesn't. Tried all the tricks and treats, but it takes a long time to file down long nails and she has no patience. My suggestion would be to use the old clippers for long claws and then see about maintaining them with this gadget. Not as exciting as the TV ads would claim and it's somewhat time consuming.
Then item is cool.

I purchased this to trim my dog's nails like others have recommended. Not only did my dogs HATE it (they are 70 pound german shepherd/boxer mix and a 50 pound Basenji mix), but it didn't even work properly! The highest setting didn't work not to mention that it was just poorly made. Sent back immediately for a refund.

I looked forward to getting this item based on reviews. The doggone thing doesn't work. Four people in addition to myself attempted to fit the tool with the fine sander attachment and could not do it.

br /Perhaps I just received a lemon, but this has been money down the drain. I have ordered a different item.

Instead of Dremil 750-02 Lithium cordless tool I was sent the 750-1 Dremil tool using NiCad batteries. I needed the tool so I am stuck with it. A sloppy way of doing business.

Plenty of Power??? I don't think so. Mine has trouble cutting open a plastic 2 liter soda bottle. Skip this one and go for the 7.2V model. It has the power you are looking for. Grinding out a fastener that snapped in a steel airplane model was no problem for this 7.2V model. Although, it still takes a good carbide bit for this tricky operation.
