Ive busted lug nuts off of 18 wheel truck tires, driven 3/4 inchbrby 12 inch long lag screws thru wood and stucco with no pilot holes drilled, taken off rusted solid, 7/8 inch nutsbrremoved all four tires and replaced them on three vehicles, on one battery charge.pevan though this tool looks huge next to the makita's dont be scared, its balance is awsome and the tool is a pleasure to use.brIve owned it for three months now and have yet to find its limit.brFaults: I drove a 1 inch by 16 inch long lag screw into the end brof a pressure treated 4x6 and it just about spent the battery.brYes thats a huge bolt, and I was surprised it even did it(no pilot hole) But if I needed this type of tool for all day usebrI would get the corded model.pFor tow truck drivers Milwaukee makes a battery charger for the car!! I only wish I had one of these when I was towing.brThis tool is a bg time winner and I highly recomend it, evenbrif you only have it to make your friends say "wholy..." when theybrsee you driving one inch lag screws with ease.

NOT FOR THE 90LB WEAKLING!

Guys, This wrench is brute. It's a heavy duty tool that take a lot of muscle power to use. I use it to remove combine cylinder bolts while laying on my back. I go through two battery packs in about 1hour of heavy duty use. Pros are no air line to get in your way, no dust from air tools, uses the same batteries as the 18v drill and ease of trigger variability. Cons are weight, weight, weight, and tool can get hot after a lot of use. My brother tried to add torque to wheel lug bolts on the big trucks after I tighten them with the wrench...but he couldn't. That sold him and me! P.S. Not a home improvement tool, a work horse!

Unbelievable tool!

We use this wrench at the track to change wheels on 4-6 cars in our group. With the two batteries and quick charger, the tool never is down on power and one battery will last through 20+ wheel changes. Unlike the other cordless impact wrenches, you don't need to break loose the nuts first - just jack the car and go. The variable speed lets you install the wheel without over tightening, and then go around and quickly torque to 70-80 ft-lbs. Then, drop the car and use your torque wrench to finish-up. pAfter my 1/2" pneumatic gun gave-up, and I couldn't break with my 1/2" breaker bar, I used this wrench to remove my 36mm front hub nuts - over 200 ft-lbs - spun them off like they were hand tight. Awesome.

an awesome tool

This is a great tool, made well and packaged well. It is heavy and it is certainly not cheap, but it works, and works well.pI use it on my track car. Just jack up the car and zip-zip-zip-zip-zip the wheel is off. It has no clutch mechanism to limit the torque, but I use a "torque stick" to keep the torque at spec. With the torque stick, it's also zip-zip-zip-zip-zip and the wheel is back on.pI've changed all four wheels several times on a couple of cars, all off of a single charge on the battery. It almost seems like overkill that it comes with a spare.pIt has a smart charger, so it charges fast but you can leave the battery on the charger if you like, to always keep one fresh.pThe blown plastic case is also solid, with metal overcenter cam latches. I have no qualms about throwing it in the trunk with a bunch of other tools -- it will be safe and sound when I open it up again.pThis tool is not cheap, and it is much heavier than an air wrench would be. It is also bulky -- don't expect to use it in tight quarters. But if you don't have an air compressor, or you have one but you need a portable tool, this is the one you want.

I love using this tool so much I bought 2 of them. We use it everyday and have yet to tire out a battery. It has removed every single lug nut without fail! I was skeptical at first but they really made a believer out of me. I highly recommend using this Milwaukee tool.

What can I say but it is a monster, I have taken off semi truck tire lugs with it.It does it without complaint and has power to spare.Batteries are long lasting, construction of the Driver is top shelf great charger, quality impact carrying case.Milwaukee is offering a fantastic kit for the price.Mine has been trouble free and a joy to own.If you need a powerful impact driver to go the distance with go for this one you will not be sorry.Plus it is made in the USA .Also consider the 1/2" to 7/16' adapter as an add on.It opens up even more uses for this all ready amazing tool.

So far I am more than satisfied. I have been using it as a track wrench for changing wheels/tires from street to race and back again at auto x events. One battery can do at least two cars easily and maybe more. I have not tried reaching max torque. I have used a torque stick for 65 ft/lb and have reached that with no problem by holding a few seconds. Tool is heavy but it sure beats the alternative.

I purchased this tool to help me remove 32 lug nuts from a Ford F350 Super Duty. These nuts were all torqued to 148 ft. lbs. with a certified Proto torque wrench with a very light coating of oil on the threads. This tool would not budge these lug nuts. My wife's Taurus has its lug nuts torqued to 100 ft. lbs. with the same Proto certified torque wrench. Same result. Once the lug nuts were removed, I used the tool to install the nuts. As best I can determine, the torque applied was around 80 ft. lbs. Quite a bit different from the 240 ft. lbs. advertised. My advise is to look elsewhere.

A BIT ON THE LIGHT SIDE, BUT....

I own this impact 1/2 in drive, an I do like it. Chaging tires is really easy now. The hard job was to lift the truck, removing the nuts, was pice of cake. The Impact wrench didn't even move when loosenig the nuts. A must for wife, she now can change tires with no effort.

I work at a tractor dealership and bought the impact/drill 18v combo. WOW. The MAC and Craftsman air impacts barely get used anymore because of this beast. This thing loosens rusted 5/8" blade spindle bolts with ease and lasts up to an hour on one battery with moderate use. As another review mentioned, it doesn't kick up dust like air impacts which is really nice on farm machinery. IT IS HEAVY, but it is more balanced than an air gun which I think makes it more comfortable in the long run.
br /
br /Obviously the huge advantage is no cords so it is extrememly nice on a service calls and fixing flat tires in remote storage buildings without an air compressor.
br /
br /Highly recommended, along with the 18v Milwaukee drill.

If you're looking for a cordless impact drill to get those frozen, rusted, threadlocked or just plain difficult nuts and bolts--this impact drill is NOT what you want.
br /
br /I don't care how this Milwaukee impact drill is rated, I have found it totally useless for anything needing *Tool Time* power. It was back to breaker bars and pipe extensions.
br /
br /What a total waste of money.

My battery lasted about 2 years under little use. Item is heavy, what good is a tool when the battery is not working. Item is built good but the Battery Design sucks. I wouldn't have bought this if I knew the battery would die with so little use. Impact gun couldn't take out a torque bolt to 150ft.lbs. The rating mean squat. It couldn't take some of my bolts. I mostly use it for tire changing and some car suspension work. Hope this review helps. Mostly work on Honda/Acura!! 3 stars. Battery Sucks, Heavy, Battery sucks, didn't take some of my bolts ~weak~. Bottom line don't get this tool if your looking into spending hundreds on battery replacements. OK tool nothing special needs more power and better battery design!!!!!!

The pros love it !!!!

This advertiser is repersenting this tool has the most torque of any cordless impact wrench 240 ft lbs of torque.Dewalt has 300 Ft lbs of lbs on its DW059 cordless impact wrench.I'm not saying which impact wrench is superior just that it has more torque.Maybe seller made a mistake, but truth in advertising is important and the public should be aware.
