Not just any old flashlight...

What was just a spur of the moment purchase to accompany my new 19.2 Porter-Cable Cordless drill has turned out to be one of the best purchases that I have made. I probably own at least 15 flashlights, but when I need to do some work in a dimly lit place, I reach for this one. It is not just any old flashlight --I love its design and its power. The Porter-Cable flashlight features a tilting head that clicks into place. I used it extensively in a darkened house to rewire outlets and switches. I placed the light on the floor, angled the head and worked away. What would have been a nightmare with any old flashlight was a quick and easy chore with this light. The power is amazing. Do not shine it in your eyes! I got quite a few hours usage off a single battery. When it runs out of juice, the speed charging system will have you up and recharged in under an hour. I can not wait to take it camping this summer to try it out. pIf you buy the drill, buy the flashlight too. You will be glad that you did.
This one will light up my work for a long time

First of all, I am not a big Porter Cable fan. I own many DeWalt tools. The only PC tool I own before the 19.2v hammer drill is the PC 690 router. The hammer drill experience was surprisely pleasant, very nice and powerful tool. Then I notice that the case for the drill has space for this flashlight, so I picked it up. It's nicely built too. Same color as the drill and use the spare battery comes with the drill and fits in the case with the battery on. The flashlight illuminates the work nicely and bright and stays where you put it, not like my MagLite that I always have to struggle with placing it somewhere to keep it from rolling away while working on something. The head angle adjustment clicks in positions nice and tight. It's definitely a good tool worth having.

This cordless wonder is a godsend for anyone who has tangled with a corded worklight in a tight space, like an attic or crawl space under the house. I have used my new 19.2V PorterCable light in both places to do plumbing, electrical, and HVAC duct work. It casts a strong beam that outshines the two-tube corded, flourecent light I was using. It sits stable on its base and can be pointed at the work with its four position head. It also stands up to rough use. It beats, hands down, those cheap, plug-into-the-wall-to-charge cordless lights in the past. I use this cordless workhorse almost every day, especially for doing anything outside after dark. It sits on the shelf in our utility room, always ready with a fully charged battery. I plan to take it in the van on vacation trips, also. Thanks, Amazon!

This light is an excellent light source. I bought it from Amazon.com late last year and have used it it in two power outages. Placed in the hallway it provides light to every room. When used in assembly of cabnits it aids in adding interior hardware. It is great for searching for wood surface defects in finish operations. It is a good investment.

I received this as part of a set of reconditioned Porter Cable 19.2 volt cordless tools (drill/driver, reciprocating saw and circular saw). pThe flashlight was part of the package and I initially viewed its inclusion in the set as a marketing gimmick--you know, some marketing guy's way of making you feel like you bought four tools when you had only bought three. As it has turned out, however, I have gotten great use out of the light. It's bright, the beam is powerful, the base is stable (you don't have to hold it in your hands, you can set it down) and the beam direction is fairly adjustable. pWe use it all the time. It has been invaluable inside cabinets, when I crawl underneath the house, and when our electricity has not been working. pI have dropped it a couple of times from about 6 feet onto concrete and while the flashlight body and the battery have survived in good working (but cosmetically bruised) condition, the bulbs have broken. pThe bulbs are hard to find in stores so buy some extras.
A must have for any home

I know the price is higher, but when you have power failures like we do, it is wonderful. The kids don't panic when the lights go out. When maintance men have to come to our home and they have those "whimpy" lights, I hand them my light. Their first response is "Who turned on the sun?" The battery seems to last a very long time. We have had ours for almost 2 years and have never had to sit in the dark. We also have the cordless drill,(love that to) so the batteries are always charged. A perfect gift for anyone, at any age.
Good choice if you have some 19.2 volt batteries laying around

Bad news first; no spare bulb (another review stated there was a spare bulb included), doesn't point downward enough (only about 45 degrees).
br /
br /Good news; Porter Cable quality, great if you have extra 19.2 volt batteries from other Porter Cable tools. Will be very handy during power failure, have not run a battery down yet. Battery gives it a very stable base, and head locks from straight up to down about 45 degrees. If you need light lower, it can be laid on its side...and doesn't roll away!
br /
br /Would have bought extra bulbs if I knew it didn't come with an extra, there is a compartment in the head to store a extra bulb. Would have given it 5 stars except for spare bulb issue.

This light is very bright and seems to last for a while on the rechargeable battery. Only complaint is that the light source is not diffuse-bright, which means anything outside of its circle of light is not illuminated well.

This is a well balanced light with the weight in the base and an adjustable head that works as a third hand. Very good battery life (19.2v) with high end battery whether on the shelf or in use. After mis-placing it during a renovation project... I immediately got a replacement.

My PC Drill burned out after 6 years of hard use - the batteries are now being put to good use with this flashlight - the light beam is nice and bright
A good solid flashlight.

I had gotten this at the same time I had gotten the PorterCable 19.2V Drill/Driver which was about five years ago. This is a real good flashlight. The battery life is excellent, the head gets a little hot however. The only problem that I have ever had with this is the light bulbs. I have never been able to find Porter Cable replacement bulbs, and when I called Porter Cable to ask about them, they were less than helpful. The bulbs that I have found for this light are just far more expensive than they should be, but you can't use a flashlighht without a bulb, so you are forced to buy the expensive bulbs or not use the light.
