I've been doing construction for twenty years and have used many drills. I was a devoted Dewalt man until I got a hold of this drill. It's very well balanced and is very lightweight. It has great power. The drill is very comfortable and is a pleasure to use.

This drill is perfectly balanced weight, size and power. If you are looking for a drill to do it all and not make your arm fall off by the end of the day this is the one for you.
br / The high points of this drill are the battery life and warranty (2 year replacement). The low weight(4.2lbs) and compact size. The chuck is one of the best I have ever used. The trigger controll on this drill is very percise and tight. I can't say enough about the great job Bosch did with this fine power tool.

In my handyman van I have a dozen bosch tools, all for good reason. They are for the professional and they hold up accordingly. If you want to be proud of your tools, buy Bosch. As for the 14.4 drill, it's my runaway favorite, in my bucket at virtually every job. I liked it so much I got two. In cordless drills I also have an 18 volt (impact), and a 24 volt as well, but the 14.4 is the workhorse because of it's ideal size. Another plus: it's possibly indestructable.

I have used this Bosch drill for a few months now and love it. To go along with the drill I also bought the Clic-Change, hex screwdriver bits, and hex shank drill bits. The Clic-Change makes life a whole lot easier by being able to switch bits quickly. The drill is small enough to fit in places that others can not. Plus, the weight and balance is such that you can drill all day without fatigue. The Bluecore battery charges in just minutes. I have also dropped the drill a couple of times and it hardly has a scratch on it. I also really love the 2 speeds. The first speed is for screws and the higher speed is for drilling holes. The 2 speeds match perfectly to the job. I highly recommend this Bosch drill.

This drill is pleasure to use. It's powerful yet very maneuverable due to it's compact size and light weight. It's perfect for small to medium sized home projects. I considered a 18V drill first but realized 18V was just too big and heavy for my home projects. The batteries take less than an hour to fully charge and last very long for light duty work. I've installed 4 curtains, two towel bars, one towel ring, and one table over one month span with one charge and it's still going. I've yet to use the second battery. Granted, I haven't done any heavy duty work, but the battery life still impresses me.

br /I consider this drill money well spent and must have in your home.

I've used DeWalt, Skill, Craftsman and Makita. Wore all of them out (batteries, mostly).
br /This is the perfect combination of power and size. It gets in to tight spots like cabinets, etc. -And I like the new chuck.
br /It is an excellent value.

I use this drill for light weight drilling into drywall usually at 70 inches or above. I like the power I have and also the light weight of the drill. I wore out 4 batterys in a competitors 12 volt drill in just over one year so I like the two year warrenty in this one. The drill fell out of my drill pouch two times in the first week that I had it and both times went down a flight of stairs and had no damage,(I have since thrown the pouch away and bought a hook which it fits into just perfectly). For my use it is one great drill. The battery charge lasts a lot longer than my old 12 volt one and recharges in half the time.

I was looking for a small but still powerful cordless drill. This little dynamo filled the bill. Its light weight but does a great job for its size. The batteries are long lasting and recharge quickly. It received a best buy rating from Consumer Reports and so far it is living up to its rating.

Okay, I'm a little late to the cordless tool thing, this being my first cordless. The Bosch 3214-2G is everything it claims to be. So far, so good. Lots of power and lots of torque. I particulary like that it is NOT made in China. Having read lots of reviews on different 14.4 cordless drills, I settled on the Bosch. I would recommend the drill, shoot it handled a 4" hole saw w/o trouble.

Swiss made, battery japan, parts other countries..solid Drill

First, I will like to clarify the manufacturer country for this Bosch drill as there are misinformations on something that can be clear as day and night. Drill is made in Swiss, batteries in Japan, other parts such as battery charger (China), drill plastic case (USA), and others.
br /Drill is well balanced, good ergonomic grip, and the chuck clicks tight and easy to change drill bits. ABS plastic housing makes this (probably) unbreakable.
br /
br /I have now used this drill several times, and it have excellent power, control, and ease of use. The torque control is very good, and the chuck quick change is quick and tight. The battery charge is very fast (30-40 minutes).
br /
br /You can use this for moderate heavy use. If you are only doing in woodworking cabinet work, light house works (drilling couple holes in the wall to hang pictures, and etc, unscrewing crates), then even the lighter 12v. model will be enough.

You will not be disappointed.

I've owned this drill for 2 years, and have used it for a variety of household projects (I've built my basement, washroom and outdoor fencing with this thing). Other reviews will point out the power and durability of this unit..which is fantastic for it's size..but more importantly, and often not addressed, is the grip mold hand fatigue. This is where it excels. From the many drills I've used throughout the years this is by far the best I've encountered in this case. Sweaty palms will not be such an issue during a hard days work. The grip itself perfectly fits into my medium-sized hands. It's really a joy to work with. The warranty is also something to think about (not that I've even needed it), but kudos to Bosch for backing up their product.
br /
br /I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years.

I love this drill. It is extremely comfortable and powerful. Screws go into any wood like a hot knife through butter. It seems to have more settings than necessary (I only use one) but that doesn't bother me. The chuck closes quickly and bits stay tight. The battery charges even faster than I need it to. I still have my old Makita 12V which I use to avoid switching bits and drivers too often, but when that battery gets used up and I use the Bosch to drive in the screws the difference is extreme.

Best cordless power tool I've owned.

I bought this drill for a planned home improvement project after being disappointed with 2 prior cordless drills I had bought over the years.
br /These other drills suffered from short battery life and poor grip with the chuck mechanism.
br /Before buying this time, I went to Consumer Reports, who gave this item high marks all around.
br /I'm completely satisfified with it.

I absolutely love this tool. I use it all the time and I can't say enough good about it. Its powerful, the batteries last forever (All day of continuous use). The balance is great, and the motor has huge torque (it was actually pulled from my grip once). The only complaint is that the bit holder can't actually hold any normal bits because of its weird design (it can only hold little bitty ones). But since I only use Phillips and square drive screws and I have a dual bit, its not a big deal for me.
br /
br /I am so impressed that I am going to replace my new Maytag dishwasher(one of the worst I have ever had - I'll never trust Consumer Reports again)with a Bosch (even though Consumer Reports gave it a good review).
br /
br /Every Bosch tool I have has exceeded my expectations to the point now that if I need a tool, and Bosch makes it, I will buy it from Bosch.

After my 12v makita drill needed a new battery, I decided that it made more sense to puchase a new drill, than it did to replace a 12v battery. I looked at makita, dewalt, panasonic and milwuakee drills( I,m one of the few lucky person to have a berland tools store nearby, so I can see and touch the drills.)To me the bosch felt the best in my hands and the bosch weight was the same as my 12v makita. I know that some of the drills, I mention above have gotten 5 stars. But when I found out that I could purchase this awsome bosch drill for 125.00(you have to purchase 150.00 to get $25 off your purchase, this offer expires 10/31/06).So far, I have used the drill for light duty work. I know that if I was happy with my 6 year old makita drill, that this bosch(with all the new technology) will keep me happy for years to come.

The drill is great but it was absent the owner's manual and I haven't been able to find out how to get one. Amazon Customre Service needs to be a little easier to deal with.

I have not yet used this drill, so if you're looking for an in-depth review on how this drill operates this isn't it. When my cordless Craftsman drill batteries finally gave up, after a surprisingly long time, I started looking for a replacement. If I did not already own a 1/2" chuck, high voltage drill I would have bought the Panasonic 15.6 volt model. Based on reviews on Amazon, on other sites, and on various magazine test reviews that drill appears to be a no-brainer. However, I was looking for a smaller, 3/8" chuck replacement model that was less expensive than the Panasonic. If you've looked at the offerings in this category you could become as overwhelmed as I was. So, for me at least, the choice came down to some factors that might not apply to other folks. I own, and have used quite extensively, other Bosch products including a table saw, router, and sliding compound miter saw. I've been very pleased with all of those products, so brand loyalty played a part in my decision. I've also been at trade shows where the Bosch people drop their drills onto a concrete surface and the drills seem to keep working in spite of that abuse. Of course, for all I know, the DeWalt people could drop their drills from a ten story bulding and they might still work. But that fact, along with a 3 year warranty on this drill and a 2 year battery replacement warranty, provides a certain level of confidence in this product. One specific fact about this drill is that it does have a setting on the chuck that locks up the clutch and allows for higher speed screwing. Makita makes a big deal about that feature on their drills, but Bosch doesn't emphasize that their drills have it. I feel very confident that this drill will last even longer than my Craftsman did, and that it will perform better for it's purpose. Since I had a $25.00 Amazon coupon, I was able to get this drill for $133.00. At that price, I think I made the right choice.

Bosch is great, but the ones sold here are not

Bought one, drill wobbled. Returned and replacement wobbles as well. Hard to drill a hole when the bit is wobbling in a 1/2 inch circle.
